Key Information about the Joint Kenyan-Israeli Nursing Degree Programme

    • The Joint Kenyan-Israeli Nursing programme is delivered by Uzima University in Kisumu, Kenya in collaboration with Galilee International Management Institute, Israel.
    • It is a 4-Year degree programme 
      • 3-Years in Kenya under the tutelage of top Israeli/Kenyan Faculty
      • 1-Year clinicals in leading Teaching Hospitals in Israel
    • Annual Tuition is $15,000
      • A 25% ($5,000) Part scholarship is available to all accepted applicants throughout the duration of the programme.
    • Tuition Fee payment in instalments is allowed.
    • The Tuition Fee excludes other living expenses estimated at about $300 per month.

Minimum of 5 credits at O-Level including English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology

Late registration is not allowed once the session commences.  Class attendance is mandatory for assessment which students must meet to qualify for examinations and progression.

In Principle, yes. This will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

    1. This is not guaranteed.
    2. The University may arrange make up classes if it is not more than 10% of the class attendance. The University may offer make-up classes and tutorials for the group of students affected to catch up.
    • The BSCN is a 4-year programme
    • Can the degree programmes be shortened? No, it can’t be shortened.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing:

  1. Application Fee: $100
  2. Annual Tuition (with the application of the 25%/$5,000 scholarship):
    • Full Tuition: $15,000
    • 25% Scholarship Offered: $5,000
    • Actual Tuition Paid: $10,000

Bachelor of Science in Nursing:

  • Registration Fee: $100
  • Tuition 1st Instalment paid upon acceptance and: $5,000.
  • Tuition 2nd Instalment paid before at the start of the 2nd Semester: $3,500.
  • Tuition 3rd Instalment paid before the start of the 2nd Semester Examination: $1,500.

Full access to all facilities provided to the students of the University including full access to both the physical and digital library repository.

Currently no refunds are possible.

Currently, Uzima University offers scholarships up to $ 5,000.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSCN)

    • Yes, it will.
    • The programme is a collaboration between Galilee International Management Institute, Israel and Uzima University, Kenya.
    • The faculty is joint Israeli and Kenyan.
    • The clinical rotation/year shall be taken in Israel.

The University does not have owned accomodation.

However, it has arrangements with certified private providers.

There are 2 sets of accommodation available.

  • Single room Kshs 6,000/month (approximately $42/month depending on current dollar rates in your country of residence).
  • Double Room Kshs 10,000/month (approximately $69/month depending on current dollar rates in your country of residence). This can also be shared.

The cost of feeding would range between $ 100-200 per month.

No, Medicine and Surgery is so intensive that undergraduates will have no time to do work on the side. In the preclinical years in medicine there will also be no time either.

The students trip to Israel is not immediate. They’ll spend 3-4 years of the program in Kenya before going for their 1 year clinicals in Israel.
The conflicts in Israel are localised, especially the occupied territories of Gaza and The West Bank.
With all the history of conflicts in Israel, normal pilgrims to Israel have never had any issue where their safety was compromised.

Kisumu is reputed to be one of the safest countries in the whole of Eastern and Southern Africa. It is also one the cleanest. And attracts thousands of visitors every year due to its location on Lake Victoria and cultural attractions.
